What:	-  A lot of reminiscing and rekindling of old friendships -  Hospitality Room with snacks, drinks and memorabilia -  Banquet New info: The banquet will be $25.10 per person (includes tax and tip). Please advise Warren your preferences for Chicken or Fish and whether you would like wine.  You can cut and paste Warren's questionnaire from his Mar 14 email below -  Optional tours (if enough are interested) New: We will not have full group tours, but there are plenty of things to do for small groups to form.
What to do now....	Read Warren Hopkins' emails below. Call, write, or email Warren indicating your interest and send him $20.00 (refundable) if you think you will attend. Reserve your hotel room (refundable up to 72 hours prior to check-in) at 800-345-9285. Book your flight.  Southwest flies to San Antonio. Travelocity also has round trip tickets from Seattle (the farthest major city I could think of) for $176.00 ($211.00 with taxes and fees). New: We hope to have airport pick ups and drop offs available.  Please advise Warren about your flight plans. Call, write, or email your friends and classmates and invite them to join us.  Look over the Alumni Contact Info list to see who you might be missing. Start collecting pictures, albums, yearbooks and other memorabilia to bring with you. Warren's email of 14 Jan 2009:

Everyone interested in attending our next k-town re-union should make your reservations ASAP.

We will be staying at the Menger Hotel, San Antonio, # 800-345-9285.

The dates for the reunion are May 13, 14, 15. 40 rooms have been blocked for these dates.  We have a smaller block of rooms for May 12 to 17.

I have a feeling 40 rooms will not be enough. It will be easier to try to increase the number earlier than later.  Their cancellation policy is 72 hours before your scheduled arrival.

Ask for the K-town reunion block.  The price is $95 a night. There will be some king size beds available. Get them early if you need one, Chuck had to make a special request to get them included.

I would appreciate it if you would send me your $20 per/person registration fee. It gives me a real idea about who is really serious about coming to the reunion.  I will refund your money if you are unable to attend.

The name tags will include the year you graduated or would have had you been there. So please include it along with the name you want on the name tag. Many of the ladies have different last names. So please help me get the name tags the way you want them.

Chuck Tharp and I will plan things for you to do.  We have to work out the details so will be working on them in the coming weeks. By April 1st, or sooner, I will send out everything that is available and the cost for each.

Bus Tours will be the hardest part. We will need to have a minimum number of people interested. More info on all of this later.

If any of you use the Entertainment Book for your area bring your card. I will have a San Antonio Book there. The cards are usually interchangeable.

We have all we need to finalize hotel and banquet arrangements for the reunion.

If you haven't made your hotel reservation please do ASAP.

If we go over our 40 rooms Chuck Tharp will need to talk to the hotel about increasing the number of rooms.

You can cancel without penalty 3 days before your arrival date. I need to know how many people will be attending.

So if you haven't sent your registration fee, please do.

The hotel has offered two dinners for our banquet. Chicken and Fish at a cost of $25.10 includes tax and tip.

They also offer a bottle of wine for $24.56 includes tax and tip.

We can have a bar set-up in the banquet room. They will charge $150 for them to set-it-up. They will charge $6 a drink.

If enough people believe we should have a bar, let me know and I will collect another $5, from those who want one.

If for some reason you are unable to attend after sending me money I will refund all that I haven't spent.

I am very slow to pay.

I don't see any reason to give them any money until I arrive and then I will try to wait until after the banquet.

Jim Zimmerman (59) and his wife have offered to pick people up at the airport on Tuesday and Wednesday.

If there are others who can help, let me know.

We will need to coordinate getting people from and to the airport during a reasonable time frame on arrival and departure.

I plan on capitializing everyone K-town last name. Mary BRADLEY McCauley 55 Warren HOPKINS 55, my wife Joan Hopkins. This will help us identify people who attended Kaiserslautern. The year will be the graduating class. So we will have 2 ways of recognizing people, a capitalized NAME and year of graduation.
